Sinking, Drifting, Resting is a project for commemorating my friend’s passing away. I adopted a slow and methodical practice in this project. Intrigued by using the camera as a way to mimic and evoke memories, I used a large format 4x5 camera to take photographs of her portrait. The process of taking her portrait periodically over a period of time to show her appearance fading away further with each iteration, is reflecting the process of my memory of her gradually becoming murky in my mind. I intended to create an emotional connection between my memory of her and my own continued presence.

第三次尝试：在这组作品中，我采用了缓慢且周期性的拍摄，纪念好友的逝世。再次以相机模仿且唤醒记忆这一臆想为出发点，我利用4x5大幅相机拍摄她的个人肖像。通过暗房冲洗、晒干后，我将第二张照片取代原来第一张的位置，再次进行拍摄、暗房冲洗和晒干，再以相同步骤以此往后拍，直到她的面貌逐渐模糊。这个过程正如随着时间流逝，她的面容在我脑海中渐渐浑浊。如此周期性地拍摄，我试图不断与我记忆中的她，在不同时空下的我建立情感连接。
